OE is really looking good. I've been gone a while, and they have done a bunch of coding, and slack has some SWEET models done.

Also, I was awarded a Geforce 5900 for something over at the FarCRy forums on UBI. I refused to enter the mapping contest there on creative restriction reasons, but the gave me an honorary prize for my work anyways. Pretty cool.

Christmas is almost here... thankfully. Then it can be over, and quit screwing up my friggin schedule....

Actually, I'm talking to EA about a job. Always said I wouldn't work for a company like that, but damn, if they are gonna pay me.....

I'm just emailing back and forth so far, and one phone call. I'll know on friday if they are interested enough to interview me in person.

This brings some issues with my current situation, but I don't know if I can pass up an opportunity to do Level Design at a pro level.

The winners of the UBI.com FarCry mapping contest were announced today. LOL. Well, I am quite glad I did not enter. The winning maps were, well, sub par, and had I entered, I would have won, and I wouldn't want to be lumped in with those maps.

No disrespect to those who entered, but I can't believe that THOSE were the best the rest of the community had to offer. Oh well, one more reason the community is failing.

I'm gonna stay with Obsidian Edge... Law school is not in my future (y? couldnt wear a suit every day. no joke. thats why.)

Really looking to find a job in the industry now. Ever since neversoft contacted me, I have decided that it is a very doable goal. Although i didnt get the job, it made me realize that my work must be pretty decent for them to email me out of the blue.

Along those lines, I applied for a job today, at The Collective. I think I could bring a benifit to them as thier current projects are: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Getting UP: Contents Under Pressure. Both look to be very interesting titles, and would be TONS of fun to work on.

been a while since i posted... just thought id make annyone who might be reading this aware that i do indeed still live.

i have released 1 new map to the public, and 3 for Obsidian Edge. the mod is really coming along, i just wish i had another mapper beneath me to help with this... the amount of maps we need for release and the amount i can do by that time are a little different. im already churning out 1 every week or so... dont think i can do much more.

I put up a new movie of my latest map, mp_kickup. The map is set in war torn Yugoslavia, and is the first map I have made in a war ravaged are. Turned out VERY nicely. It recived rave reviews from the beta testers...

Also, mp_boxcanyons is now the widest distributed custom map for FarCry. (by amount of servers its in rotation on.. probably by download to, but I have no way of knowing that!)

I checked my email today, and had a very interesting letter from a rep at a development studio (I won't say which). Any way the letter said they would like to know a bit more about me, and see my resume. Apperently the person that emailed me, had showed the designers my work, and they must have liked it, 'cause they contacted me.
God, that would be a dream come true.. Working for a studio!!! wow. Can;t even imagine... I mean, thats why I spend a good 6+ hours a day after work mapping. It would be the perfect job... I could live at the office except my wife would kill me.!

lets see... mp_railway reached final for the assault version.

mp_kickup in in progress... its a wartorn urban environment, think irag / arabia / pakistan
its looking pretty good... itll have a city on the far west, sandy areas to the north cliffs to the south and east
in the center of thjis "city" there is an oasis area with a well and the like... cool huh?

gotta get back to work...
